Tell me about your crush on Vassivière, when, how?

Native of Auvergne I live now for 15 years in Aveyron. I fish mainly trout and all carnivores. I discovered the lake of Vassivière for the first time in 2008 I fell in love with it. Despite the distance, I try to come regularly to track pike perch and pike perch that inhabit the dark waters of the lake.

What feelings does it inspire in you?

The first thing that seduced me in Vassivière, is the color of the water, brown, peaty, in its wilderness setting, it’s a little Irish side that comes out of this place. Set in the middle of the woods, this lake inspires calm, the place is very soothing. When you are on the water in the silence of the lake, the sunrises and sunsets have an almost mystical side.
What is also pleasant in Vassivière, it is that there are many accommodations around and near the lake, and for fishermen coming from other regions like me, it is a real plus.

A little anecdote during your fishing session at Vassivière?

One thing is sure, when I come to fish on Vassivière I always bring several outfits, and in particular warm and especially waterproof clothes. The weather is so capricious that you have to be ready for anything. And that too is part of the charm of fishing at Lake Vassiviere.
