Royère de Vassivière
A broad village, Royère-de-Vassivière adjoins the lake’s shores, from the dam to Vauveix going through Masgrangeas and the Broussas’ peninsula. It is the scene of protected natural sites such as the heaths of Puy de la Croix, a few pitbogs, the Devil’s Gully but also the Chassagnas Peninsula which overlooks the Vassivière Lake.
“L’Atelier” has become a must-see, it enlivens the heart of the village and offers, as well as a shop-bar, a varied rich cultural program all year long.
Its 13th century church, entirely renovated, comes alive with classical concerts.
Royère-de-Vassivière is also the craddle of motorsports with the Vassivière Club Tout Terrain who organises large events.
