Above the main door, the town?s coat of arms: a Vert bush surmounted by 2 stars and a crescent moon. Aubusson?s motto "inter spinas floret" (it blooms amidst the thorns) conveys the image of a town that flourished despite the difficulties of the terrain, wars and invasions. The Vert bush surmounted by a crescent moon and two stars is certainly borrowed from the coinage of the Lusignan family, Counts of La Marche in the 12th century.
