According to legend, Gargantua, the mythical character created by Rabelais, left traces of his passage in many parts of France, often on rocks, defined as his chair, his bowl, his whetstone... In the commune of Saint Priest la Plaine, he is said to have left the imprint of his giant foot on three stones in the village of La Quaire, in the Bois du Puy de Geai and near the ruisseau du Veau.
