It is said that near Reillat, there was a fountain known as Font-aux-Sauniers or Font des Faux Sauniers. It is said to have been a meeting point for smugglers engaged in the salt trade. A path along the road leading to the village leads to the fountain, which is enclosed in a low retaining wall and feeds a reconstructed drinking trough. Continuing along the low-walled path up to the village of Reillat, a cross was rebuilt in 2001 by local sculptor Jean Estaque. The sculpture, carved from wood, was placed on the existing base. A Pierre des Morts (Stone of the Dead), carved with a cross, rests in front of the new structure.
