in Bénévent-l'Abbaye
-
The 17th-century fountain, listed in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments since 1926, originates from the cloister of the former abbey. Originally, water from this basin flowed into a second, larger basin. In 1790, some of the abbey's assets were declared "national property", and the municipality requested that "the water from the fountain be left for the use of the commune's inhabitants, and transported to the former cemetery, which had been converted into a public square".
