Based in the Creuse region for over 10 years, Sophie Mallet previously spent many years abroad, from 1987 to 2002, in the USA and Asia, where she was able to practice her profession as a photographer. In addition to photography, she has always enjoyed exploring and working with other materials: glass, wood, engraving and, more recently, acrylic paint, which she applies to her photographs. Nature, and trees in particular, play an essential role in her work.

In her exhibition Nature et Couleurs, her photographs are printed on Fine Art paper, and the use of acrylic paint enhances certain details. Her choice of colors and the interplay of textures make us hesitate, and the boundary between reality and dream becomes more uncertain. In this way, we can travel between photography and painting.
