The 22-hectare lake is located in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region, while the shelter and part of the grounds, as well as the reception facilities, are in the Auvergne Rhône Alpes region. This fragment of territory is identified with a catchment area and the ancestral customs of the two territories, which are in fact separated by administrative boundaries, but where the inhabitants are linked by history and naturally perpetuate their customs and lifestyles.

A pathway around the lake with an observation post to watch animals and flora, has been created with the construction of footbridges to cross some of the wetlands around the pond, made of wood and accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Carp fishing 100% no-kill; fishing for carnivorous fish is prohibited.
