Before 1789, the parish was under the authority of the diocese of Clermont, while the abbey of Chambon was responsible for its administration. In the 13th century, the main feature of the building was the barrel-roofed nave. The side chapels, which form a sort of transept with two small sacristies, date from the modern era. The western facade is topped by a bell-wall with two semicircular bays.
