The parish of Brousse depended on a commandery of the Order of Malta (Saint-Romain-en-Gal) and probably previously on the Order of the Temple. The church, surrounded by a cemetery, has been completely rebuilt. However, under the bell tower, the 13th-century portal of the original church has been preserved.
