They enjoy the calm of this protected space, these precious, intimate moments. They improvise ditties. They allow themselves what they shouldn't, navigating between indecency, poetry and self-mockery. They free themselves from the etiquette they might have in front of an audience. There's no better way to get rid of stage fright. Two artists are in their dressing room, plunging with delight into the unmentionable.
A song is already a confession, a confidence. But what sieve can filter out what deserves to be sung? Alone with our guitar, we are often our own censors, intransigent if not a little cowardly. When we write together, on the other hand, the mesh widens. We can go further........
