The château was built in the late 1780s. From 1870-1880, the new owners undertook work to improve and enhance the estate: creation of a reserve to the south, construction of the current outbuildings to the east (stables) and west (orangery) and, in 1889, construction of a hydraulic system and creation of a park. The hydraulic works, designed by engineers Biot, Dutheil et Cie, consisted of a mother fountain, catchment aqueducts and 18 manholes, including three masonry shafts linked by an underground gallery allowing one-man access. The park was designed by Henri Nivet Jeune. He created a mixed garden in the transitional style between the landscape garden and the return to the regular garden.
