Jean de Durat in the fourteenth century, for services rendered to the crown of France received several honorary titles and offices. He thus became Bailli d'épée and Combraille and captain of the castle of Auzances. The memory of his union with Claude de Mier is engraved on the imposing fireplace in the Salle des Gardes.
