  • The public weighbridge is an architectural structure. In the Creuse region, it is usually located in the center of a village, or near a church or market place. It was used to determine the weight of any road vehicle or animals such as pigs or cows, or hay and straw etc., and then sell them at a price based on their weight. The Creuse region still has a number of these, some still in working order.
