No Kill Course

Concerned with combining the preservation of fish resources and the development of fishing leisure, the Federation wished to set up, in partnership with local AAPPMA, a network of No-Kill courses or “Gratification courses”.

In the Monts de Guéret, you can find in particular one of these no-kill courses. The course “La Gartempe”is located on the municipalities of La Chapelle-Taillefert and Saint-Victor-en-Marche and extends a distance of 1.5 km.

The forward limit is at the level of the bridge of the Rebeyrolle from below while the upstream limit is at the level of the bridge of the campsite of La Chapelle-Taillefert (Le Gué Lavaud).

Regulations

  • Specific regulations apply on this course:
  • No-kill fishing with mandatory catch-and-release of fish (except undesirable species)
  • Use of live or dead fish prohibited
  • Fishing without barbs or with crushed barbs
  • Panel fishing prohibited on the courses
  • Landing net use recommended

For easier identification, the no-kill courses are delineated from bridge to bridge. On-site signs materialize these boundaries and provide information on specific course regulations.
