European Heritage Days 2022

Discover here the program of the 2022 European Heritage Days in the Monts de Guéret, on September 17 and 18, 2022.

    As every year during the third weekend of September, about 17,000 private and public sites open their doors to you in France in order to discover their riches!

    A true flagship event of the fall, the Heritage Days offer you the opportunity to visit many sites exceptionally open to the public during the days of Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September 2022.

    Discover then the program of the European Heritage Days 2022 in the Monts de Guéret around the theme “Sustainable Heritage”.

    Saturday, September 17, 2022

    • Lycée Professionnel Louis Gaston Roussillat in Saint-Vaury: Guided discovery of the tree-lined renaissance park. From 9am to 12pm. Information at 05 55 80 27 55.
    • Tour of Renabec, the house of the painter Fernand Maillaud : Between visits tales, dive into the summer home of an artist of the early twentieth century. From 3 to 4:30 pm. Registrations & information from the Tourist Office of Greater Guéret or 05 55 52 14 29.
    • Cimetière des Pénitents Noirs : Visit the Chapel of the Calvary and the cemetery. From 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Information at 06 89 48 42 65.
    • Guided tour of the city of Guéret: Guérétoise foray. From 10:30 am to 12 pm. Information and registration at the Greater Guéret Tourist Office or 05 55 52 14 29.

      • Hôtel de la Préfecture: guided tour of the Creuse Prefecture. Two departures at 2pm and 3:30pm. Group of 50 people maximum. Registration by email: pref-communication@creuse.gouv.fr

    • Pierre Bourdan High School: guided tour of a high school, an architectural heritage in the heart of the city. From 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Free admission.
    • Gueret’s Italian-style theater: The “Masquarades” association puts Guéret’s Italian-style theater back in the spotlight during the 2022 European Heritage Days. From 2 to 6 p.m.
    • Discovery hike “Histoires d’eaux” in Sainte-Feyre. Hike of a distance of 8 km. Visits along the way: aqueducts, fountains, catchments, reservoirs etc.. Explanations and exhibition of archive documents and photos. Meeting point at 2 pm at the Place de l’Église in Sainte-Feyre.     • Discovery hike of the dolmens of Champ Douleau (8 km) in Saint-Sulpice-le-Guérétois. Departure at 9:15 am in front of the village hall.
    • Tour with commentary of the Church and the old town of Saint-Sulpice-le-Guérétois. At 2:30 pm, place de l’Église.

    Sunday, September 18, 2022

    • Creuse Departmental Council: guided tour of the Departmental Council headquarters. Two tour departures: 10am and 11am. Groups of 25 people maximum. Information and registration at 05 44 30 23 24.
    • Archives départementales de la Creuse : The departmental archives reveal themselves to you. Visit the departmental archives. Two departures at 2pm to 4pm. Information & reservations at 05 44 30 26 50. Groups of 40 people maximum.
    • Archives départementales de la Creuse: Guided tour of the exhibition “Les monuments aux morts de la Grande Guerre dans la Creuse”. Two departures of visits: 14h and 16h. Groups of 20 people maximum. Information & reservations at 05 44 30 26 50.
