GR41© “Cher Valley”
The Cher, one of the largest tributaries of the Loire, has its source in Creuse at Mérinchal. It is therefore quite natural that the GR41® “Cher Valley”crosses part of the department. After two years of work, the French Federation of Hiking Creuse invites you to discover this freshly marked route during a day dedicated to hiking in roaming.
The volunteers of the federation offer to accompany you on different distances:
- Itinerance Auzances- Mérinchal 22 km: departure 10:00 Auzances place de l’église / free shuttle from Mérinchal at 8:30 place de l’église.
- Itinerancy Solignat- Mérinchal 12 km : departure from Solignat at 2:00 pm / free shuttle from Mérinchal at 1:30 pm Mérinchal church square.
- Told walk 6 km : departure 2:30 pm in Mérinchal place de l’église
The idea being to converge hikers to the town of Mérinchal around 4:00 pm / 4:30 pm, the arrival point of these routes is more precisely the Calvary Chapel at the foot of which will be held the official inauguration of this hiking trail and a wine of honor.
The event is open to all free of charge, registration is required via this LIEN

A big thank you to the volunteers
The Creuse section of the French Hiking Federation offers you for the first time an event intended both to promote the GR41® and the work of volunteers. For 2 years, the volunteers have worked on this project since its creation, its development and its marking. Thanks to them, inhabitants and visitors will be able to walk on this route in complete safety! We can already thank them for their investment that will allow everyone to actively enjoy the beauty of our landscapes.
