Interpretation trails

Behind every landscape, there is a painting… it is the landscapes of Creuse that brought so many impressionist and post-impressionist masters in search of inspiration. Painting in the open air, in the very heart of nature, the artists lived the landscape. It’s up to you to try the experience… since two interpretation trails, in Crozant and Fresselines are available to you: the “Path of painters” and “In the footsteps of Monet”.

Over a few enchanting kilometers, discover the works and key personalities of landscaping, impressionism, but also of literature with notably George Sand and Maurice Rollinat, who also fell under the charms of the Creuse Valley.

The details of the paintings reproduced on“bookmarks” harmoniously implanted in the landscape, offer a succession of motifs that the most curious will be able, by means of the “Interactive Trail Booklet” on sale in the Tourist Offices, and at the Heritage Interpretation Center store, to reproduce in situ!
