I’m pretty romantic, I admit, and I have to say I would love to be surprised for Valentine’s Day! Flowers, jewelry, perfume… it’s nice but very ordinary. Today I’m sharing the gift I’d love to receive for Valentine’s Day that couples might just love! How do you surprise, reunite, please and indulge yourself? Follow my advice…
I propose you to take him to the end of the world, in a place full of charm and calm where you will live the time of a weekend (or more), far away from the daily tumult. To get to this little paradise, no airplane or complicated procedures… This place is located in Creuse, in an exceptional setting.
It is a secret cocoon, a haven of peace that seems lost in the middle of nature. To come to the Moulin de la Farge, you have to get lost in the Creuse countryside. The hamlet is on the small commune of Saint Moreil. From the village, you have to drive another 5 kilometers on small roads and even very small roads (but tarred!) in the middle of the woods. You will cross few cars, surely none, but you will discover some magnificent landscapes.
While you will think you are lost, you will have arrived in your ephemeral end of the world. A magnificent pond, a stone mill from the 17th century, a traditional Creusoise construction and there, completely independent, an old bakery entirely restored with taste. The happy owners, Jan and Loes will welcome you very warmly. Preventive, they also know how to be discreet and are always delighted to entrust the oven transformed into a small atypical and cozy cottage.
A stone path leads to the terrace arranged in the garden, along a stream and overlooking the pond. Push the door…The restoration of the building is remarkable and the furnishings are done with great taste. The materials used and the floor heating do not denature the place. A large fireplace now receives a wood stove that crackles cheerfully: “welcome”. Everything is there for a dream stay: snuggle up in front of the fire with a good book, take advantage of the modern kitchen to concoct delicious little dishes, hang out in bed (the room is on the mezzanine) with your eyes lost in the nearby forest. Perhaps, you will even see a deer?
Promise,it is impossible to be bored here ! The hiking trails promise beautiful walks in the forest, pedestrian or mountain bike (offered by the owners) from the gite. A ray of sunshine will perhaps invite you to enjoy the terrace and, for the less chilly, wrapped in a good plaid, the sky will offer itself to you as you have perhaps never seen it! Yes, here there is no light pollution and the magnificent show is free for all!
It is rested and full of energy that you will leave this pretty cozy nest. You will keep in memory the singing of the stream, the birds in the early morning, the beautiful landscapes at the windows… This enchanted interlude will surprise you and will allow you to find yourself for a moment out of time in love, a romantic and bucolic escapade.
