Furnished Tourism

The tourist furnished is a furnished villa, apartment or studio, for the exclusive use of the tenant, rented to a transient clientele who make a stay there characterized by a daily, weekly or monthly rental and who do not elect domicile there (the maximum duration being 12 weeks).

1. the formalities

To offer for rent a furnished tourist accommodation, be aware that the only mandatory step is the declaration in the town hall (article L. 324-1-1 of the tourism code). You will also need to apply for a SIRET number.

This free process can also be done online, your pre-declaration will be automatically transmitted to the town hall of the location of the tourist accommodation.

2. Classify your furnished accommodation

Once the rental has been declared to the town hall, the owner may carry out, if he wishes, a classification procedure for his furnished accommodation. This procedure is a voluntary step that is not mandatory but highly recommended since the classification guarantees standards of comfort and equipment based on national criteria and thus helps to reassure customers. In addition, this process allows bentitlement to a tax deduction.

The classification has 5 categories ranging from 1 to 5 stars and is valid for 5 years, after which time the renter must make a new request for classification if he wishes his accommodation to continue to benefit from a classification.

To be classified, the furnished tourist accommodation must meet the criteria of the classification table following the order of August 22010 setting the standards and procedure for the classification of furnished tourist accommodation. This table includes 112 criteria of control (mandatory and optional), and is divided into three chapters: “Equipment and facilities”, “Service to the customer”, “Accessibility and sustainable development”. To obtain the classification in the requested category, it is sufficient to reachthe number of mandatory and a la carte points defined for the targeted category.

You can carry out this procedure with Gîtes de France Creuse – Tel. 05 55 61 50 15
