Day by day
The program
Day 1: Saturday, welcome to the “green island”!
Arrival of participants starting at 2pm. In the late afternoon, visit the sheep farm and have the opportunity to go on a “sheep tour” with the breeders who will be happy to discuss their activity with you. Creusois welcome dinner served at the gite and shared with the guide who will explain the week’s program.
Day 2: Sunday, Rozeille Gorges
About 8km, 200m+, off-trail parts. Departure from the gite at 9am to explore the surrounding hills and the banks of the Rozeille river which flows through picturesque little gorges. This nice walk off the beaten track is an opportunity to get acquainted with the plants that live in different environments. Back at the lodge, we will review the characteristics of the main families and species encountered, and we will concoct our dinner together with plants collected during the day.
DAY 3: Monday, green and blue landscapes
About 10km, 250m+. Leave at 8:30am from the lodge by car (30 min drive approximately) for a hike through woods, meadows and ponds. This route will be ideal for identifying tree and shrub species. On the way back, we will stroll through the small medieval village of Crocq. The opportunity to observe the plants colonizing the walls and sidewalks such as the elegant cymbalaria, the navel of Venus and the capillary of the walls.

DAY 4: Tuesday, on the Millevaches plateau
About 11km, 250m+. Departure at 8:30 am from the gite by car (about 40 min drive) to walk on the Millevaches plateau where you will discover two new ecosystems: moors and peat bogs. You will learn how to identify callunes and heathers and we will go hunting for droseras! On the way back, thematic slide show on the adaptation of plants to their environment. Dinner at the restaurant.
DAY 5: Wednesday, bocage landscapes
About 8-10km, 300m+. Departure at 9am on foot from the gite for a route in a bocage scenery
typically Creusois: meadows, forests, riverside and sunken paths welcome you.
In the evening, we will concoct our dinner together with the plants collected during the day.
Day 6: Thursday, heading for the big lakes
About 12km, 400m+. Departure at 8:30 am from the gite by car (about 45 min drive) to discover two large lakes of the Millevaches plateau and the ecosystems that surround them. This will be the occasion of a life-size quiz along the plants we will meet! Before leaving, we will pay a visit to the famous and bucolic Petit Pont de Senoueix. Dinner at the restaurant. On the way back, we will take advantage of the nightfall to realize a nocturnal wildlife outing (1-2h).
DAY 7: Friday, free day
A day to rest and relax and/or enjoy a visit in the surroundings (among other possibilities: local market in Felletin, Cité Internationale de la Tapisserie in Aubusson…).
JOUR 8: Saturday. It’s only goodbye!”
Leave the gite before 10am.

Accommodation and full board
Small rustic gite for 5 people located in a quiet propertyprivate in a farmhouse for sheep breeding. Possibilities to accommodate 3 additional people in a tent (sharing the common areas with the rest of the group).
Stay in full board from Saturday evening to Thursday evening, Friday and Saturday morning not included (self-catering)
