European felt days

A unique event in France around the discovery of wool felt and its artistic variations.

Since 2009, Felletin has become the Capital of Wool Felt for a week. From the “Birthplace of tapestry” to “European Felt Capital”, there is only one step ! Aubusson’s little sister has a long history of developing and enhancing wool and its woolen skills. In fact, today you can discover there, on guided tours, the artisanal wool spinning Terrade and the Pinton tapestry workshops, witnesses of this active wool sector.

The biennial explores all the creative facets of the world of wool felt during this European event: artistic exhibition, professional and beginners training (a selection of the best specialists and different techniques to discover the multiple possibilities of this knowledge of this know-how with LAINAMAC), felt market with stands of designers, raw materials… everything for felting and fashion show.

THE EXHIBITION / COMPETITION

Each biennial is an opportunity to discover the range of possibilities and the technicality of wool felt. An imposed theme allows the “feutriers”, who answer the call for competition, to give free rein to their imagination. The variations are multiple: felt nuno, needle, soap… The exhibition is the highlight of the event; the visitor finds colorful works, sometimes offbeat, often surprising. Difficult to remain insensitive !

CREATORS FAIR

The felt is exposed and available: accessories, clothing, jewelry, bags, hats, decorative items…

The opportunity to stock up on raw materials (carded and combed wool, fabrics, materials and accessories for felt and fibers…) and to discover the world of natural dyes with a dedicated space.

Animations are offered for the whole family during the “Salon des Créateurs”. You can learn about felt and dye, or enjoy a conference or a storytelling.

Forty selected foliage craftsmen, suppliers of raw materials, carded and combed wool.

FASHION SHOW “ FELT’IN SHOW”

In the cosy space of the “Eglise du Château”, at the heart of the exhibition-competition, a parade of over 70 pieces (clothing and accessories) selected from the best of wool felt creation, all in music and light.

Moment of exception, this stroll is an essential part of Eurpean Felt Days… The magic of fabrics, movement of materials, shimmering colors, a parade of creations imbued with poetry and wonder!

INTERNSHIPS AND TRAINING

The particularity of this event is to give pride of place to the discovery of the wool felt technique. Amateur practice or professional training; all the speakers selected have in common a level of excellence and a proven willingness to transmit. And what could be more rewarding than discovering a new technique and leaving with its achievements.

Day or multi-day courses and training depending on the theme. In partnership with the LAINAMAC Training Center.
