Vassiviera

David and Amélie, nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts, are the creators of this original project.

David is a privileged native who grew up here, in this magical setting on Vassivière Island, just across the road.
Together with Amélie, both engineers, they needed to return to their roots after a number of experiences (most recently in the tumultuous city of Tokyo) and, above all, to give meaning to their life project. In 2019, they are embarking on the Vassiviera adventure. To give ‘their soul and their values’ to this project, they have done everything from A to Z ‘made in Family’: a year of preparation (study, reflection, creation of scenarios), a year of work and still a lot of ideas in their heads.

A unique experiential concept:

A single location, the former F.O.L. sailing base at Auphelle, facing the lake, a complete area for games, relaxation and catering that showcases local history and culture.
The aim is to create links and coherence by promoting the region in all its facets: historical, cultural, leisure and gastronomic.

The different worlds :

– The dam, an unusual and immersive adventure game, in partnership with EDF that mixes escape-game and sensory experience. Try to save the Vassiviera dam from certain submersion!!!

–The Legends Trail, A treasure hunt along a trail of artistic landscape creations, pTo unlock the secrets and mysteries of local legends.

– Snake Island, in search of the lost treasure: the new adventure of canoe exploration

– Guides Toursof the Vassivière dam and Peyrat le Château power station, an EDF partnership

– The Local Snack, taste local flavors and enjoy a moment of relaxation by the lake: scenic space, thematic evenings, music…

Focus on the game ‘Le Barrage’ …

Amélie: I’m used to saying that Le Barrage Vassiviera is an escape-game that isn’t one!
We wanted to awaken all your senses in this game – indoors – through the almost realistic settings, the noises, the smells, the sensations and above all the experiments in coordination, agility and communication. You’re in total immersion.
Imagine… In Vassivière, in the distant future, all-powerful nature has reclaimed its rights over the lake and the Vassivière dam, forcing its abandonment. The deluge that has battered France relentlessly in recent months has raised the water level and this fortress is now in danger of collapsing at any second.
You are the EDF maintenance team. Your mission is to penetrate the bowels of the dam and make your way through this maze in an attempt to open the bottom gates and save the Vassivière valley from certain submersion.
An evolving game for 2 to 5 players aged 10 to 110 – per team – Duration: around 90 minutes – from €23 to €28/player depending on the number of players.

Any plans for the future ?

David and Amélie: We’re bursting with ideas, but we want to remain rational. First of all, the scenario for Le barrage will evolve over the seasons. You can replay the same season without having to repeat the same adventure, and each season will give your maintenance team a new mission!
The recipes for the local snacks will also change with the seasons.
Secondly, we’re keen to continue developing the ‘trail of legends’, and we’ve got a big surprise in store for … 2026, perhaps!
