Label Site Rivières Sauvages
In France, only 21 rivers are labeled “Site rivières sauvages”and the Creuse department has 2 of them: La Gioune and the Pic.
This label is awarded* only to rivers with very high heritage value and which present an exceptional state of preservation. These 2 rivers of about ten kilometers meander on the plateau de Millevaches on the side of Gioux for the first and Saint-Pardoux-Morterolles for the second.
They feature characteristic mid-mountain waters,vivid and crystalline, and are remarkable for their natural beauty and their landscape. They harbor an important biodiversity (Natura 2000 classified sites) and are to be discovered, for example, through the course of hiking trails, respecting, of course, nature and private property.

A natural pool in Creuse
There are very few facilities of this type in France: the biological and discovery pool in Marsac was the 5th to be installed in France. It is an organic pool operating without chemicals and relying on the naturally purifying effect of plants that filter and regenerate the water.
