In the heart of a natural territory, its green forests, its meadows, the Creuse and Gartempe rivers, its streams and ponds, the Station Sports Nature des Monts de Guéret welcomes you all year round to let your desires for freedom, oxygen, the practice of outdoor physical activities and immersion in a preserved environment express themselves.

By the richness of its ecosystems and its exceptional biodiversity, this territory knows how to amaze you and help you decompress away from the stress of dense urban areas.

Walking through our numerous itineraries and activity spots, you will share unforgettable memories with your friends or family as you hike, mountain bike, ride a horse, canoe, go up in the trees, on the viaduct or after a flight over the Creuse River.

Bike and mountain bike routes

Spread throughout the territory, in the heart of the green hills of Chabrières, the Maupuy, the Puy des 3 Cornes and through the country lanes, the Mountains of Guéret mountain bike-FFC sitewaits for you on more than 720km of marked out, maintained and secured circuits. You ride at your own pace on trails adapted to your level of practice. To choose from: 10 green circuits (very easy), 8 blue circuits (easy), 10 red circuits (difficult), 10 black circuits (very difficult) including the Tour VTT des Monts de Guéret (153km), without forgetting also the downhill and enduro tracks (the Grande Carrière, a green track of 850m 75m of D-, the Granite bleue, a blue track of 2.12km/201m of D-, the Voie des Carriers, a red track of 1.77km/236m of D-).

The Station Sports Nature offers rental of mountain bikes and electrically assisted mountain bikes, accompaniment for your hikess with qualified instructors or theorganization of loop or itinerant stays.

On the road bike side, 3 local loops have been marked out (from 15 to 35 km) for a discovery ride with the family, as well as 69 to 136 km circuits (downloadable) for the more athletic.

Trail area (routes, outings, training courses)

In the heart of the Monts de Guéret Trail Area, stride through gorges, mounts and valleys, jump from paths to tracks, from stones to roots and run through the magnificent landscapes and green reliefs of the Maupuy and Chabrières massifs. With these 10 specific “trail” circuits marked (from 5,9km and 141m of D+ to 67km and 2402m of D+), each runner, beginner or expert, will find in the Monts de Guéret a playground that matches his desires and abilities. Alone or with friends, you will find inspiration for active stays to prepare your season or in view of the famous “Trail du Loup Blanc” in December.

For lovers of night outings, 3 circuits are marked with retro-reflective arrows. With a good headlamp, training can continue even in winter! Not forgetting also a split coursearound the Courtille pond, aFartlek course and a dry climbof 850m at 10% at the Maupuy summit.

Climbing, zip line, accrobranche

Want to play balancing act, feel the rock and pull yourself up against the wall? Whether you are a beginner or an experienced climber, your way is found in the Monts de Guéret. The Station Sports Nature and its team provide supervision on the site of the Glénic viaduct.

Climb along the cliffs of the quarry of Maupuy: 60 equipped routes from level 4a to 7c, sealed spindles, useful straps for belaying… enough to practice a varied climbing with dihedrals, cracks, overhangs and spills. For the natural sites, a climbing instructor is available upon reservation.

A parcaccrobaticat the height of the Forest of Chabrières has opened in 2019 and since 2018, a giant zip line has been installed above the river La Creuse, located at 16m high, which connects in round trip 2 beaches on a length of 450m.

But also a multitude of other activities:

– Paragliding : Air Expérience offers a unique experience within reach of all, fly over the forest of Chabrières in tandem discovery, tandem sensation, progression course, discovery weekend… or free practice from 3 sites of flight;
– Astronomy : observe the stars from supervised sessions, by canoe or on foot to you choose;
– Fishing : a preserved no-kill course of 1.5km has something to delight fishing enthusiasts with the possibility of discovering different techniques with a Fishing Instructor-Guide (introductory and advanced fly fishing courses, guidance on the courses, workshop on tying,etc), but also river or pond fishing and crayfish fishing on several spots in the territory;
– Swimming, canoeing / paddling and kayaking: having many recent facilities, 3 beaches offer you many nautical activities in the immediate vicinity of tourist accommodations (camping and lodgings) on Anzême, Jouillat and plan d’eau de Courtille;
– Hiking, nordic-walking and horseback riding : With a variable altitude from 300 to 687m, in the heart of a forest massif of more than 2500ha, on the plain or along the Creuse gorges, the Monts de Guéret offer privileged spaces for hiking in all its forms. For hikers on foot, it is + 250km of circuits spread over 25 loops from 2.9 to 15km and a GRP of 120km, marked with arrows … and for horseback riders travel the trails of the GRP and its equestrian variants on + 80 km.
– Orientation and Geocaching : go hunting for the beacons on permanent or semi-permanent orientation courses or hunting for poï’z thanks to the application Terra Aventura.
